Germany allocates 491 MW in biomass auction, biomethane tender revives

Germany's Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) has awarded contracts for 388 projects totalling 491 MW in an undersubscribed auction for biomass plants, while a parallel biomethane tender attracted bids for the first time since October 2022.

European partners target 160,000t/y SAF plant in France

Engineering group Technip Energies (EPA:TE), aircraft maker Airbus SE (EPA:AIR), aerospace components manufacturer Safran SA (EPA:SAF) and agricultural cooperative Tereos have agreed to form a joint venture to develop a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) plant with an annual production capacity of about 160,000 tonnes at the Port of Dunkirk in northern France.

Calpine adds 25 MW to The Geysers geothermal complex in California

Calpine, a business unit of US power producer Constellation Energy Corp (NASDAQ:CEG), has finalised a 25-MW expansion at The Geysers geothermal complex in California, adding enough generation capacity to supply electricity to more than 25,000 homes annually, Constellation said on Monday.
