Jul 26, 2012 - US green energy storage systems maker ZBB Energy Corp (NYSEAMEX:ZBB) yesterday said its Chinese joint venture Anhui Meineng Store Energy System Co Ltd had officially put in operation a factory for advanced energy storage and control products.
The facility has a designed annual production capacity of 100 MWh of energy storage and control products. It has a production area of 3,000 sq m (32,292 sq ft) which includes equipment to assemble and test ZBB EnerStore advanced energy storage and power and energy control systems of 50 kWh to 5 MWh. Its construction commenced in December 2011 and finished in April this year, with production starting in May.
Anhui Meineng Store Energy System's general manager and CEO Brad Hansen said the products would boost the productivity of photovoltaic and wind power systems and enable the adoption of third-generation energy storage for intelligent micro-grid and smart-grid based distributed energy systems. He added that the Chinese market, for which Meineng has exclusive license to produce, sell and service ZBB Energy's products, is seen to be the largest for advanced energy storage and control systems globally.
Meineng's other shareholders include Chinese electrical equipment maker Anhui Xinlong Electrical Co (SHE:002298), private equity firm PowerSav Inc, and power transmission projects builder Wuhu Huari.
