Wynright installs support stands for Nordex wind turbines in USA
Jul 26, 2013 - US warehouse equipment supplier Wynright said yesterday that it had completed the Phase II of the deployment of converter support stands for the wind farms of Nordex USA, a unit of German wind-turbine maker Nordex SE (ETR:NDX1).
Wynright Structural Solutions was contracted in 2011 and 2012 to design and build more than 130 converter support stands for the Nordex wind generation sites.
The converter support stands will make it easier for installation and maintenance crews to access the infrastructure within Nordex's wind turbine converters at its sites in Washington, Nebraska, Tennessee, Iowa, Texas and Michigan, Wynright added.
Nordex entered the US market in 2009 and since then has installed turbines with a combined capacity of 646.6 MW across the country, the company said earlier this month. It has recently decided to shut down its US nacelles factory in Jonesboro, Arkansas, but said it will not affect its sales and service operations in the USA.
