Wpd says on track to complete 36-MW Finnish wind park in 2015
Nov 28, 2014 - German group Wpd AG said today the construction of the 36-MW Jokela wind farm on Finland's west coast is proceeding as planned and the facility is on track to be completed next year.
Despite tough weather conditions, work on the infrastructure is progressing well, the wind park developer said in a statement, adding it expects to be ready for turbine installation in mid-2015.
The project will use 12 machines of Nordex’s N117/3000 model, which will be able to generate a total of 119 GWh of electricity per year. The parties have already signed a turbine supply deal.
Wpd noted it plans to build up to 150 MW of wind parks in the Finnish province of Nordosterbotten and a total of 600 MW across the entire country. Overall, the group has installed some 2,800 MW of wind capacity around the world.
