November 27 (Renewables Now) - Wpd europe GmbH, part of Germany's Wpd AG, last week said it has reached financial close for the 72-MW Aldermyrberget wind farm in northern Sweden.

The wind park is being built in the municipality of Skelleftea. The planning for it began back in 2010 but certain developments forced Wpd to reschedule the scheme.

KfW IPEX-Bank was the company's partner for the project financing.

Wpd announced a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) for the wind farm with a major industrial company in Sweden in May and then ordered 17 V150-4.2MW wind turbines from Vestas. Construction on the wind farm's infrastructure began in June. The turbines are expected to be installed in the summer of 2020, with the wind park to be commissioned in the third quarter of the year.
