July 18 (Renewables Now) - German project developer WKN AG announced today it has handed over to John Laing Group plc (LON:JLG) a couple of wind parks in France totalling 32 MW.

UK infrastructure investor John Laing now owns the 21.6-MW Sommette-Eaucourt wind farm in Picardy and the 10.25-MW Saint Martin l’Ars plant in the Poitou Charentes region. The larger facility is comprised of nine Nordex N117 wind turbines, while the smaller one uses five Senvion MM92 machines.

While the Sommette wind park started operation in December 2017, the Saint Martin plant has just initiated power production, according to WKN’s announcement. Sommette can meet the annual power demand of about 21,000 homes, while Saint Martin can generate enought electricity for around 8,000 households.
