December 6 (Renewables Now) - Danish company Windar Photonics Plc (LON:WPHO) has won an order from an unnamed Chinese original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to supply five of its LiDAR wind sensors.

The Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) optimisation systems were purchased for immediate delivery, according to an announcement made on Wednesday. The order is for a mix of both WindEye and WindVision systems, which will be integrated directly for general wind turbine optimisation.

"With this latest order we now have either completed or are currently conducting test projects with the majority of both top 10 and top 20 global OEM manufactures,” said CEO Jorgen Korsgaard Jensen.

A couple of days earlier, Windar said it had secured a "milestone" order for 300 LiDAR systems also in China. The first 50 LiDAR systems will be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2017 and the remaining 250 systems during the first half of 2018.
