Wind turbine at 100 metres height burns in Germany - report

(ADPnews) - Oct 4, 2010 - A wind turbine at 100 metres (328 feet) height in Wildenrath, in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, caught fire on Saturday night, the online edition of daily Aachener Zeitung reported yesterday.

Due to the height at which the fire occurred, firemen could not damp it down. The burning therefore continued for more than an hour before the fire died out.
