October 30 (Renewables Now) - US company Transportation Partners and Logistics LLC (TP&L) will help an unnamed original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in the wind industry double its capacity to rail machine heads and hubs in Pensacola, Florida.

The USD-4.1-million (EUR 3.6m) project involves the reengineering of the current rail system so that the wind OEM will be able to load up to 20 rail cars per shift, as compared to no more than 10 currently.

TP&L, which offers with rail, port and trucking logistics support and management for multiple industries, has started work on the project this week. Completion is planned for early February 2019.

GE Renewable Energy has an onshore wind turbine machine head and hubs assembly facility in Pensacola.
