Dec 9, 2011 - UK wind farm developer Renewable Energy Partnerships (REP) has disposed of Maerdy Windfarm Ltd, a 24-27 MW onshore wind project in Rhondda Valley, Wales.
The news emerged in an announcement by law firm Eversheds, which said it had advised REP on the sale.
The buyer is Velocita Energy Developments Ltd, a newly-created wind developer backed by Riverstone Holdings, a private equity firm focused on energy and power.
The Maerdy project, which REP has been developing for the past eight years, has consent for the installation of eight wind turbines. Construction work is expected to be carried out in early 2012 and the facility is expected to become operational in 2013.
