Wazee Wind expands into southern US via acquisition
Jul 13, 2012 - US electrical and mechanical solutions firm Wazee Companies LLC said on Wednesday its Wazee Wind unit had acquired the wind division of COT-Puritech, expanding its reach into the southern US.
Wazee Wind provides services to the wind industry such as oil changes and component maintenance. The addition of the wind division of Canton, Ohio-based lubrication services company COT-Puritech would allow it to serve the entire market west of Mississippi river, Denver-based Wazee Companies said. The purchase would expand Wazee Wind's four-strong oil change truck fleet to six vehicles and was expected to help it more than double the number of its oil changes in 2012 over last year, the company added. Wazee Companies president Trevor Armstrong claimed that the company now had a share of about 75% of the western US market.
COT-Puritech's wind business is based in Abilene, Texas. Financial details of the deal were not available.
The announcement also said that Wazee Wind would soon launch a website offering access to new and refurbished parts for wind turbines.
