November 24 (Renewables Now) - Finnish technology group Wartsila Corp (HEL:WRT1V) said on Wednesday that it has booked an order to supply a 25-MW/100-MWh energy storage system for a project in Belgium.

Wartsilla will work under an extended equipment delivery and a long-term service agreement in what will be its maiden project in the Belgian energy storage market, it said. The name of the customer was not disclosed.

The order includes Wartsila’s fully integrated, modular and compact energy storage system GridSolv Quantum, and the energy management system GEMS Digital Energy Platform. The system will be optimised with Wartsila’s Service+ GAP solution, which provides maintenance with performance guarantees.

The storage system is expected to go online in the fourth quarter of 2022.
