Vestas unveils 113 MW of turbine deals in Europe

Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) has secured a series of deals to supply 113 MW of wind turbines for projects in Germany, Finland and Sweden.

The Danish wind turbine maker said this weekend it has been selected to deliver to NOTUS energy Plan GmbH & Co KG 12 MW of turbine capacity for two wind parks in Brandenburg, Germany. More specifically, the company will supply two units of its V150-4.2 MW turbines as part of the maiden order for such machines in Germany, as well as one V136-3.6 MW turbine. They will be installed at the Lubbenow II and Lubbenow III wind parks.

Vestas expects to install and put the machines on stream in the third quarter of 2019. A 20-year Active Output Management 4000 (AOM 4000) service agreement and a VestasOnline Business SCADA monitoring system are included.

Vestas has also landed a 59-MW contract in Finland from Germany-based Wpd AG for 14 units of the V150-4.2 MW turbines. They will be installed at the Kuuronkallio project in Finland's Kalajoki region on the western coast. Installation of the machines will take place in the second half of next year, Vestas said.

The order includes a 20-year AOM 5000 service contract and a VestasOnline Business SCADA system for optimising power output.

Also in the European market, Vestas has won an order for 42 MW of turbine capacity in Sweden from local developer OX2. The Danish firm will supply, install and commission 10 units of the V136-4.2 MW turbines equipped with its anti-icing system for the Braennliden project in Skelleftea municipality.

Installation is planned for the third quarter of next year. Following commissioning, the turbines will be the first ones using the anti-icing system that will be put on stream, Vestas said. The company’s anti-icing solution was launched in February for the V136-4.2 MW and V150-4.2 MW turbines.

Including the Braennliden project, Vestas has secured almost 600 MW of turbine orders featuring anti-icing.
