June 29 (Renewables Now) - Denmark’s Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) said today it will supply wind turbines of two different models with a combined capacity of 33 MW for a project in eastern Austria.

Specifically, Vestas will supply and commission a total of 10 turbines of the V126-3.3 MW and V112-3.3 MW models for the Parndorf project. The customers, Energie Burgenland Windkraft GmbH and ImWind GmbH, have made two orders for that particular scheme, according to the announcement.

"To achieve the lowest cost of energy at the Parndorf wind farm, we needed to leverage two different turbine variants installed with two kinds of towers,” said Nils de Baar, president of Vestas Central Europe.

Vestas expects to deliver and commission the machines in the second half of the year. The company has also received full-scope service deals (AOM 4000) for 15 and 20 years, respectively. They include the VestasOnline Business SCADA solution.
