Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) said today it has received a firm and unconditional order for a 76-MW repowering project in Germany.
The company will supply 22 units of its V112-3.45 MW turbine to Looft-Schmidt Projekte Erneuerbarer Energien GmbH. The machines will replace 40 different types of turbines installed over the last more than 30 years at the Norderwoehrden wind park in Schleswig-Holstein, northern Germany.
The order also includes the commissioning of the turbines, as well as a 15-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM5000) service contract and VestasOnline Business SCADA solution. Vestas plans to start delivering and commissioning the turbines in the third quarter of 2017.
According to the announcement, the project involves 13 different operating companies.
"We are happy that Looft-Schmidt Projekte Erneuerbarer Energien has again chosen Vestas and opted for our V112-3.45 MW for this repowering project", said Nils de Baar, president of Vestas Central Europe.
