Vestas to supply 67 MW turbines for S African wind project

Nov 15, 2012 - Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) said Thursday it would deliver 37 of its V100-1.8 MW turbines for a project developed by South African Umoya Energy.

The wind farm will be in Hopefield in the Western Cape province in the south-western part of the country.

Vestas expects to start deliveries in the second quarter of 2013 with the aim of bringing the project online in February 2014. The company will also supply its VestasOnline Business SCADA solution, and provide civil and electrical works as part of a 15-year service agreement.
