February 4 (Renewables Now) - Vestas Wind Systems A/S has booked an order from German renewables investor and asset manager Luxcara GmbH for 160 MW of turbines that will be distributed between three wind projects in Finland.

The Danish manufacturer will supply 38 units of V150-4.2 MW turbines with site specific towers for the Valikangas, Pihtipudas and Sievi wind projects in Finland’s North Ostrobothnia region.

The Valikangas project is developed to have 100 MW of capacity, while Pihtipudas and Sievi share 60 MW. Luxcara acquired the assets from Germany’s ABO Wind last year.

Vestas said Tuesday its agreements with the investor cover the supply, installation and commissioning of the turbines, as well as 25 years of servicing the wind farms.

The company plans to start deliveries in the second quarter of 2021 and commission the machines later on in the fourth quarter.

Once commissioned, the three wind farms will be able to meet power needs of more than 140,000 households.
