Sep 12, 2013 - Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) today said it would supply all turbines for the 42-MW Bordelum III citizen-owned wind farm in Germany.
Delivery of the 14 pieces of the V112-3.0 MW machine is to start in the closing quarter of 2013 to the site in the northern state of Schleswig-Holstein. Under the order, coming from Bordelum III GmbH & Co, Vestas will also install the equipment and take care of the commissioning, planned for the first half of 2014. The contract includes a VestasOnline Business SCADA solution and a 15-year full-scope service agreement.
Once up and running the wind farm will produce over 140 GWh annually or as much power as over 35,000 German homes consume, the Danish company said. Almost 700 local residents have invested in the wind farm project, noted Harm Truelsen, one of the power plant managing directors.
By the end of June 2013 Vestas had delivered 654 units of the V112-3.0 MW machines globally.
