Vestas to equip 121-MW Polish wind park successful in local auction

Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) said today it will equip a 121-MW wind farm that was successful in a competitive auction round in Poland.

The Danish company has developed a customised solution for the Zielona Debsk project by Polenergia Farma Wiatrowa 3 Sp. z o.o. It comprises 55 units of the V110-2.0 MW turbines in 2.2 MW Power Optimised Mode, to be deployed on 120-metre towers. The order also includes a 30-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement and a VestasOnline Business SCADA solution.

Vestas expects to start deliveries in the third quarter of 2021, while commissioning is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2021.

The wind farm will be built in north-central Poland’s Mazovian Province and will be able to produce some 366 GWh of electricity per year, which corresponds to the power demand of about 183,000 homes.

This latest order brings Vestas’ total associated with Polish competitive onshore wind auctions to above 1.2 GW.
