Vestas to deliver turbines for 93 MW wind project in South Africa

Jul 3, 2013 - Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) has signed a turnkey contract to deliver, install and put online 31 wind turbines for a project in South Africa, the Danish company said today.

The turbines of the type V112-3.0 MW will be delivered from the second quarter of 2015 to the Tsitsikamma community wind farm in Port Elizabeth.

The 93 MW farm will go on stream in the first quarter of 2016.

The contract was awarded by Cennergi (Pty) Ltd., a joint venture of South African mining group Exxaro Resources Ltd (JNB:EXX) and Tata Power Co Ltd (BOM:500400).
