October 21 (Renewables Now) - Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) has received an order for 61 MW of turbines from German renewables developer Wpd AG for the Chuangwei and Leadway onshore wind projects in Taiwan.

The Danish turbine manufacturer said Monday the twin projects will feature 17 units of Vestas V117-3.45 MW machines delivered in 3.6-MW power optimised mode.

The order is the first deal to come out of the pair’s strategic framework agreement that encompasses over 400 MW of onshore wind projects in Taiwan, Vestas stated.

Vestas is to supply, transport, install and commission the turbines and further provide services under a 15-year Active Output Management 4000 (AOM 4000) agreement.

The Chuangwei and Leadway wind farms are expected to begin commercial operations in the last quarter of 2020.
