Denmark’s Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) will be the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for the 48-MW Tra Vinh V1-3 nearshore wind project in Vietnam.
The wind turbine manufacturer said in a statement on Wednesday that it got the contract from REE Corporation and added that this is its second EPC intertidal job in the country.
Vestas will supply, erect and commission 12 units of its V150-4.2 MW wind turbines for the project, each delivered in 4-MW operating mode. In addition, the company will take care of the civil and electrical work and will service the machines for 20 years under an Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) deal.
The Danish firm expects to complete the construction of the wind farm in the final quarter of 2021, before the current wind feed-in tariff deadline in the country.
