March 23 (Renewables Now) - Italian energy company ERG SpA (BIT:ERG) has ordered 47 MW of Vestas wind turbines for a project in Northern Ireland, the wind turbine manufacturer said today.
Denmark-based Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) will supply 13 units of its V112-3.45 MW turbines in a 3.6-MW power operating mode, which will be installed at the Evishagaran wind farm. Apart from delivering the equipment, the company will also take care of the installation and commissioning of the machines.
The deal also includes a 10-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement and the delivery of the VestasOnline Business SCADA solution.
Vestas expects to start supplying the turbines in the second quarter of 2021 and bring them online in the second and third quarters of the same year.
The order adds to Vestas' order intake of over 200 MW secured in the UK’s post-subsidy market, the Danish firm said.
