Vestas renews service deal for 132-MW US wind farm
Oct 29, 2014 - Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) said today it will be servicing the 132-MW Kibby wind farm in the US state of Maine for a further 15 years.
The company has signed a new agreement with the wind park owner, Alberta-based energy infrastructure firm TransCanada Corp (TSE:TRP), to provide its Active Output Management (AOM 5000) service package through year 20 of the facility’s operating life. The value of the new service deal was not disclosed.
The Kibby wind park, located in Eustis, Franklin County, uses 44 of Vestas’ V90 turbines with capacities of 3 MW each. The Danish firm has been servicing the machines since it installed them in 2009.
Vestas has erected a total of 14,325 MW of wind turbines in the US and Canada.
