Vestas picks up 27-MW turbine order from Polish auction winner

Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) has signed a contract to supply turbines for a 27-MW wind farm project promoted by Polish energy group Polenergia SA (WSE:PEP).

The Kostomloty project is the fifth collaboration between Polenergia and the Danish manufacturer, which designed an energy solution consisting of nine units of the V136-3.45 turbines. The machines will be delivered in 3.0 MW power optimised mode on 122-metre towers and will be covered by a 30-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement, Vestas said.

The Kostomloty wind farm will be erected at a site in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, south-western Poland.

Polenergia secured the project in Poland’s technology-neutral energy auction in December 2019. With the Kostomloty order, Vestas has accumulated more than 1.5 GW of contracts tied to the Polish auction system.

Turbine deliveries and commissioning are expected to start in the first quarter of 2022. Once fully online, the wind farm will generate an estimated 87 GWh of electricity per year.
