Vestas nabs 30-MW repowering deal in Germany

Danish firm Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) today announced yet another order for its turbines, this time for 30 MW for a citizen-owned wind farm in Germany.

The company will supply several V117-3.45 MW turbines to long-term customer Bürger-Windpark Lübke-Koog Nord GmbH & Co KG. These will replace 13 units of the V80-2.0 MW machines at the site in Schleswig-Holstein state.

Vestas said the firm and unconditional includes the supply and commissioning of the turbines for the repowering project and a 20-year full-scope Active Output Management 5000 (AOM5000) service agreement. The wind turbine maker will deliver and commission the new equipment in the third quarter of 2017.

Since the start of 2016 Vestas has announced turbine orders amounting to 8,374 MW. The latest deals include firm and unconditional orders in the US for a total of 291 MW and in Honduras for 59 MW, all announced today.
