Vestas lands 250-MW turnkey order in India

Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) said today it has secured a 250-MW turnkey order in India for a project that is part of the country's first wind power auction conducted in February 2017.

The contract, Vestas' largest order to date in India, has been awarded by Actis-backed Ostro Energy Pvt Ltd.

The wind park will be located in the Kutch district of Gujarat state and will use 125 of Vestas' V110-2.0 MW turbines. It is expected to be commissioned by the third quarter of 2018. The order includes delivery, installation and commissioning of the turbines, as well as a 10-year service agreement. Vestas will also be responsible for the project's civil and electrical works

The company has now secured more than 480 MW of orders in India since the start of 2017, including a 100-MW turnkey project unveiled in September.
