Vestas installs first V112 offshore turbines on Karehamn plant
Jul 4, 2013 - Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas (CPH:VWS) has installed the first eight V112-3.0 MW wind turbines on the 48 MW offshore power project in the Baltic Sea near the Swedish village of Karehamn.
The installation of the first V112-3.0 MW offshore turbine was a key milestone for Vestas’ offshore business, Uffe Vinther-Schou, deputy head of Vestas Offshore, said.
The 48 MW Karehamn offshore wind park, operated by German E.on SE (ETR:EOAN), is the first of several offshore projects on which the V112-3.0 MW turbine will be installed in the next two years. The Danish wind turbine maker will deliver 73 V112-3.0 MW turbines to the 219 MW Humber Gateway plant in the UK in 2013 and 2014. Further 72 turbines of the same type will be installed on the 216 MW Northwind Offshore Wind Farm in Belgium.
