Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) has been contracted to equip two Vietnamese wind parks with a combined capacity of 64 MW.
Vestas said in a statement on Friday that it will supply, transport, install and commission a total of 16 units of its V150-4.2 MW turbine model in 4-MW operating mode for projects developed by Huong Tan Wind Power JSC and Tan Linh Wind Power JSC.
The turbines will be erected on mountainous terrain in Quang Tri province. Vestas anticipates commissioning the wind parks late in the second quarter of next year. It will also service the plants under a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) contract.
Including this latest order, Vestas has now closed deals in Vietnam for more than 160 MW this year.
