December 7 (Renewables Now) - Denmark’s Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) said today it has received an order for the supply and installation of 36 MW of wind turbines in Italy.

Local renewables developer Andali Energia Srl has purchased 10 units of Vestas’ V136-3.6 MW turbines for the Andali wind park in the region of Calabria. The particular project was one of the winners in the first auction in the country back in 2013.

Vestas said it expects to deliver and commission the turbines in the second quarter of 2019.

The Danish firm says it has installed 4 GW of wind power generating capacity in Italy since 1991, which corresponds to a 40% share of the country’s total wind capacity. It has signed over 1 GW of contracts in Italy’s auction system, according to the announcement.
