November 28 (Renewables Now) - US utility PacifiCorp has contracted Denmark’s Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) to repower the Goodnoe Hills wind farm in Washington, increasing its capacity from 94 MW to 103 MW.

Vestas will supply and commission 47 units of the V110-2.0 MW turbines, delivered in 2.2 MW Power Optimised Mode, for this project. The existing wind farm was commissioned in 2008 and consists of 47 Senvion MM92 2MW turbines.

In addition to supplying the machines, Vestas will also service them in the long term. Deliveries are expected to start in the first quarter of 2019.

This latest order comes after PacifiCorp hired Vestas to repower the Marengo I and II projects, also in Washington. That contract was for 234 MW.

PacifiCorp has more than 1,000 MW of wind parks across the US states of Oregon, Washington and Wyoming. The company is part of Berkshire Hathaway Energy.
