Denmark’s Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) confirmed today it has received an order from Eolus Vind AB (STO:EOLU-B) for the 130-MW Backhammar wind project in Sweden.
Under the terms of the deal, Vestas will supply 22 units of the V136-4.2 MW model and nine V150-4.2 MW turbines for the particular project, located in the municipalities of Kristinehamn and Degerfors. This is the first time a Swedish project will use the V150-4.2 MW machine, the supplier noted.
The contract covers the supply, installation and commissioning of the turbines and includes a 15-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement. The project will also utilise the VestasOnline Business SCADA solution to reduce turbine downtime and optimise the energy output.
Vestas said that it will deliver the turbines and complete the project in 2020. Including Backhammar, Eolus and Vestas have now collaborated on almost 900 MW of wind projects in Sweden.
Last week, Eolus said it will sell the particular project upon completion to German asset and investment manager KGAL, which has already bought four such facilities from the Swedish firm.
