Sep 3, 2014 - Danish company Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) said today it will supply 42 MW of wind turbines to the renewables business of Italian energy company ERG SpA (BIT:ERG) for a project in Poland.
More specifically, Vestas will ship, install and commission 21 of its V90 turbines with capacities of 2 MW each. The company expects to start deliveries in the second quarter of 2015 and to commission the machines in the third quarter of the same year.
ERG Renew’s wind project will be located in the Polish province of Radziejow. The firm said in July it had finalised its acquisition of EW Orneta 2, the owner of a 42-MW wind project in the particular area, from Vortex Energy for an enterprise value (EV) of about EUR 7.2 million (USD 9.5m). The project is worth some EUR 65 million.
To date, Vestas has shipped some 540 turbines with a combined capacity of over 1,100 MW to Poland. Just a couple of days ago, it unveiled a firm and unconditional order to deliver 58 MW of wind turbines to French group EDF Energies Nouvelles (EDF EN) for a project that will be constructed in the western province of Lubuskie.
