February 17 (Renewables Now) - Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) today announced an order to deliver 39 MW of turbines for a wind farm that Sweden’s Stena Renewables AB will build at home.

The equipment covered in the contract is for the Riskebo project in Hedemora Municipality, the manufacturer said in a press release. Under its terms, Vestas will supply, install and commission the machines and also service them under a 30-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) agreement. The deal includes the VestasOnline Business SCADA solution, as well.

Turbine delivery is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2021, while commissioning is scheduled for the last quarter of the same year. Stena Renewables’ partner in the project is its compatriot Dala Vind AB.

Vestas said this is the first order for its V162-5.6 MW machine of the EnVentus platform in Sweden. The Danish firm in January announced another order from Stena Renewables to equip a 155-MW wind farm in Sweden with its V150-4.2 MW turbines, in a 4.3 MW power optimised mode.
