December 30 (Renewables Now) - Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) has received a 37-MW turbine order for two onshore wind projects in Italy.

The solution for the future wind farms, located in the regions of Calabria and Basilicata, features a configuration of turbines from the Vestas V110–2.0 MW and V136–4.2 MW model.

The order was placed by Italy’s PLT Engineering. The contract includes the supply, installation and the 15-year service agreement, the Danish turbine maker said.

Vestas plans to deliver the turbines in the second half of 2020 and commission them by the fourth quarter of the same year.

Once online, the two wind farms will produce electricity for Italian renewable energy company PLT Puregreen under a 12-year power purchase agreement (PPA).
