Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) on Tuesday unveiled 159 MW of orders to deliver turbines for wind projects in Italy, France and the Netherlands.
As it made a series of order announcements, the Danish manufacturer said its turbines have been picked for 42 MW of wind farms in France. The contract was placed by French wind and solar farm developer Valeco Group for three unspecified schemes, calling for Vestas to supply and install eight of its V100-2.0 MW machines in a 2.2-MW power optimised mode and eight V117-3.45 MW turbines in a 3-MW operating mode. Service agreements are also part of the deal.
Vestas expects to deliver the hardware and bring the power plants online in the first half of next year.
The wind turbine maker will also equip a 32-MW wind park in France under a contract with renewable energy producer Elicio covering an auction-winning project in the country’s renewables auctions. For the Le Haut Plateau wind farm, Vestas will supply and install nine units of its V136-3.45 MW turbines in a 3.6-MW power optimised mode and service the machines for “at least the next 20 years.” Turbine deliveries for this project are planned to commence in the third quarter of 2021, with the wind park going online in the next trimester.
In the Netherlands, Vestas has secured a 36-MW deal from Vattenfall Wind Development Netherlands BV for a repowering project in Flevoland province. The so-called Jaap Rodenburg II wind park will be repowered with 10 of Vestas’ V117-3.45 MW turbines in a 3.6-MW mode, which will replace the existing V66 machines at the site and increase the capacity of the plant more than twice. A 10-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement has been signed, as well.
Vestas will start delivering the equipment in the first quarter of 2021 and put the machines on stream in the following quarter.
Moving south, Vestas will supply turbines for two projects in Italy, of 49 MW in total, that were secured in local competitive tenders. Located in the Campania region, the power plants will be equipped with six V110-2.0 MW turbines in a 2.2-MW mode and 10 pieces of the V117-3.45 MW machines in a 3.6-MW operating mode.
This order includes the supply and installation of the turbines and a five-year service contract. Deliveries and the power plants’ commissioning are scheduled for the first half of 2021.
The names of the two Italian projects will be kept under wraps upon the customer’s request, Vestas noted.
