August 31 (Renewables Now) - Swedish utility Vattenfall AB expects feedback next month on an updated plan for an up to 70-MW expansion of the already-operational 37-MW Clashindarroch wind farm in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

Vattenfall intends to present its plans for the Clashindarroch II wind project to local residents, community groups and businesses through several events that will be held from September 10 till September 13. The new scheme involves the installation of 14 turbines that are up to 180 metres tall. Last year, the company sought feedback on 16 turbines up to 150 metres high.

A planning application could be submitted to the Scottish government next year.

If the project is realised, the resulting wind farm will be able to generate enough power to meet the annual consumption of over 150,000 UK homes.
