Vattenfall plans to develop new wind park in Scotland
Nov 19, 2014 - Swedish utility Vattenfall AB said on Monday it is in the early stages of assessing the possibility to build a wind park in Scotland's Argyll and Bute council area.
The company will hold public events between December 2 and December 4 to discuss the project with residents and businesses around Tarbert, Skipness and Whitehouse. Vattenfall is considering allowing the local community to own part of the wind park.
The facility is expected to be located at Cnoc an Fhionn, a site south of the village of Tarbert that is considered to be one of the windiest places in Britain. No further details around the project have been disclosed.
At present, Vattenfall operates the 41.4-MW Edinbane wind park on the Isle of Skye, in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland, as well as the 36.9-MW Clashindarroch plant in Aberdeenshire.
