March 12 (Renewables Now) - Finnish industrial operator Valmet Corp (HEL:VALMT) has won a contract to supply a feeder system for a biorefinery that is under construction in the US state of Oregon.

More specifically, IR1 Group LLC has order a pressure boundary plug screw feeder system for Red Rock Biofuels LLC’s (RRB) Lakeview biorefinery. The system is designed to feed against high pressure and to feed a wide range of feedstocks and bulk density, Valmet said in a statement.

The particular second-generation commercial scale biorefinery will convert waste woody biomass into renewable jet, diesel and gasoline blend stock fuels. It is expected to be completed in 2020.

IR1 Group has, to date, built and is operating biofuel plants with a combined production capacity of more than 325 million gallons (1,255 million litres).
