Feb 16, 2015 (SeeNews) - Finnish firm Valmet Corp (HEL:VALMT) said Friday it will supply equipment worth between EUR 125 million (USD 142.6m) and EUR 150 million for a bioproduct mill in Finland, which will have a biogas plant.
The company has signed a letter of intent for the delivery with Metsae Fibre Oy. The latter is planning to construct the EUR-1.1-billion mill, touted as the largest investment in the forest industry in Finland, in Aeaenekoski. The contract for Valmet can be finalised once Metsae Fibre has made the investment decision on the project, which could happen this spring.
The job for Valmet involves engineering, procurement, supply and construction management of a recovery boiler, a pulp drying line, a lime kiln and a biomass gasification plant. The biogas facility will use bark and will have product gas capacity equal to some 87 MW.
Metsae Fibre is a subsidiary of Finnish forest-industry cooperative Metsae Group.
