US Waste Connections to supply solid waste to biofuels plant
(ADPnews) - Nov 19, 2010 - US solid waste services provider Waste Connections (NYSE:WCN) has agreed to supply solid waste as a feedstock for a biofuels plant project of cellulosic ethanol producer Fulcrum BioEnergy.
Waste Connections will deliver the required waste from its waste processing facility in California, it said on Wednesday.
The biofuels plant, located in Nevada, will have a designed ethanol production capacity of 10.5 million gallons and electricity generation capacity of 16 MW per year from processing post-sorted municipal solid waste. The facility is expected to become operational in 2012, opening 50 full-time and 450 temporary workplaces.
On Tuesday the US Department of Energy selected Fulcrum BioEnergy's biofuels plant to start the final phase of financing under its Loan Guarantee Programme, Waste Connections added.
