US NorthWestern Energy to purchase 25 MW wind project in Montana
(ADPnews) - Dec 21, 2010 - US local utility NorthWestern Energy (NYSE:NWE) said last week it agreed to buy a 25 MW wind project in Montana from its developer, Compass Wind.
The utility did not disclose the price of the deal.
Compass Wind submitted its project to NorthWestern under the utility's renewable energy resource solicitation in 2009.
A definitive agreement on the transaction is expected to be signed in the first quarter of 2011 and the Montana Public Service Commission is seen to give a pre-approval of the deal at the beginning of 2012.
Construction of the wind farm is planned to start upon a favourable decision from the commission. The farm is expected to become operational by the end of 2012.
