US Clenergen to set up 4 MW biomass power plant for Yuken India
(ADPnews) - Nov 24, 2010 - US biomass developer Clenergen Corp (PINK:CRGE) has signed a contract with Indian oil hydraulic equipment maker Yuken India Ltd (BOM:522108) to install a 4-MW gasification biomass power facility in Bangalore.
Clenergen's Indian unit will sign a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) to sell up to 1.5 MW of the plant's production to Yuken, the Indian firm said today. The rest will be sold to the national grid, expected to generate revenues of USD 2.5 million (EUR 1.9m) a year.
The facility will be constructed and launched in 10 months after signing the PPA.
Clenergen India will lease up to 800 acres (324 hectares) of non-arable land close to the project site to grow its high-yielding bamboo species used as feedstock.
