Spanish wind turbine maker Gamesa SA (BME:GAM) said on Friday it has won orders from Concord New Energy (HKG:0182), or CNE, and Hebei Construction & Investment Group (HCIG) for a total of 82 MW in China.
Gamesa confirmed that CNE has ordered 16 of the G97-2.0 MW turbines for its 32-MW Bainijing wind project in Yunnan province, southern China. The machines for this development will be configured to withstand the extreme conditions sustained at an altitude of 3,200 m (10,500 ft), Gamesa said. CNE unveiled this contract last month.
The company expects to deliver them in September, for commissioning in December 2016.
On the other hand, HCIG has purchased 14 of the G97-2.0 MW turbines and 11 of the G90-2.0 MW machines for the 50-MW phase III of the 150-MW Senjitu II wind complex in Hebei province. Overall, the project will consist of 75 Gamesa turbines.
Gamesa has supplied more than 4,000 MW in China over the past 16 years and the country accounted for 13% of the company’s total sales volume in 2015, it added.
