(SeeNews) - Sep 2, 2013 - Spanish renewable energy firms are expected to assume costs totalling EUR 1.35 billion (USD 1.785bn) in the second half of 2013, given the energy reform of the government, business daily Expansion quoted sector association Unesa. <br /> <br /> The value of the costs for the conventional energy firms is also estimated at EUR 1.35 bn.<br /> <br /> Although it is still too early to calculate the impact on each company, the biggest part of the costs is seen to be covered by Endesa (MCE:ELE), Iberdrola (MCE:IBE), Gas Natural (MCE:GAS) and Acciona (MCE:ANA).<br /> <br /> Unesa considers the total reduction of revenues in the energy sector to amount to EUR 5.7 billion in 2013, EUR 3.6 billion of them corresponding to power generation under ordinary regime.<br /> <br /> Iberdrola estimates the impact on its accounts to stand at EUR 290 million in 2013 and EUR 90 million in 2014, while the negative effect on the business of Endesa and Gas Natural is estimated at EUR 300 million and EUR 200 million, respectively. State-owned Red Electrica de Espana (REE), which is in charge of operating high-voltage transmission lines, will face the lowest impact of the energy reform, or EUR 100 million, in 2013.<br /> <br /> (EUR 1.0 = USD 1.322)
