The UK High Court has dismissed an appeal by Broadview Energy Ltd against the communities secretary's decision to reject the up-to-15-MW Spring Farm Ridge wind project in England.
The UK wind farm developer said on Friday it was disappointed and will decide whether to appeal to the Court of Appeal after reviewing the judgement.
Then-communities secretary Eric Pickles intervened during a second public inquiry into the project in 2013, recovering the decision for himself. He refused planning permission in December 2014 against the planning inspector's recommendation.
The Spring Farm Ridge plans envisage the installation of five turbines with capacities of between 2 MW and 3 MW on agricultural land between the villages of Greatworth, Helmdon and Sulgrave in Northamptonshire.
Broadview lodged an appeal to the High Court in January, saying it had "identified a number of concerns about the manner in which the decision was taken".
