Turkish Bilgin Enerji Yatirim eyes new investments to boost energy output - report

(ADPnews) - Nov 24, 2010 - Turkish clean energy producer Bilgin Enerji Yatirim plans new projects to increase its energy output to 5 billion kWh-5.5 billion kWh a year by 2013, Turkish news site Haberler.com reported on Monday, citing company official.

The company's management board chairman Vehbi Bilgin said that its investment plans for the next three years included a 50 MW wind farm in western Turkish province Izmir, a 45 MW hydropower plant in Mersin province in southern Turkey, two hydropower stations in western Turkey's Antalya province and Elazig province in eastern Turkey with total capacity of 125 MW, and a 425 MW natural gas-fired power plant in Trakya region.

Bilgin Enerji's current renewable energy output capacity is 1.5 billion kWh-1.7 billion kWh per year.

Since 2003 the company has established seven renewable energy plants, including three hydropower plants with total energy output capacity of 800 million kWh per year and four wind farms with 240 MW installed capacity.
