Turkish energy investor Kinesis Enerji has ordered 50 MW of turbines from Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (BME:SGRE) for its first wind farm project in Spain.
Siemens Gamesa announced the contract today, saying it will deliver ten units of its SG 5.0-145 wind turbines for the investor’s development in the north of Spain. The order includes the provision of maintenance services for 25 years.
The parties expect to commission the wind farm some time in the first half of 2024.
“We are happy that we achieved another important milestone and took a big step towards the realization of our first project in Spain, which we acquired in 2019 and was brought to ready-to-build status successfully,” said Hasan Inaloglu, Kinesis Enerji Chairman and CEO.
While the project was not named in Siemens Gamesa’s press release, the contract announcement could be referring to the 50-MW Andella wind power development that Kinesis Enerji bought in late 2019. That project, located in the region of Castile and Leon, was to be designed and developed by Germany's ABO Wind AG (ETR:AB9) on behalf of Kinesis Enerji, it was stated at the time.
