Nov 28, 2014 - The Renewables Infrastructure Group Ltd (LON:TRIG) said on Friday it has acquired the 25.3-MW Taurbeg wind park in the Republic of Ireland from Renewable Energy Systems Ltd, or RES Group.
The renewable energy infrastructure investor will pay EUR 17.3 million (USD 21.5m) for the plant, subject to certain earn-out provisions.
The Taurbeg facility is located near Newmarket, County Cork and has been operational since March 2006. It uses 11 Siemens wind turbines of 2.3 MW each. The wind park is selling its output to SSE Airtricity.
Following the latest purchase, TRIG’s renewables portfolio now includes 439 MW of wind and solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity across UK, France and Ireland. Overall, it owns 29 plants. Just recently, the firm acquired the 16-MW Earlseat wind farm in Scotland.
