Jun 23, 2014 - UK-based The Renewables Infrastructure Group Ltd (LON:TRIG) said today it had bought 22 MW of local onshore wind parks for a total GBP 19.1 million (USD 32.5m/EUR 23.9m).
TRIG acquired the 12-MW Tallentire wind farm in Cumbria, England as well as the 10.2-MW Meikle Carewe wind park near Aberdeen, Scotland from developer Renewable Energy Systems Ltd, also known as RES Group.
The six-turbine Tallentire wind farm has been operational since May last year, while the 12-turbine Meikle Carewe wind park began work in July 2013. The turbines for the two projects were supplied by Denmark’s Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) and Spain’s Gamesa Corporacion Tecnologica SA (BME:GAM), respectively.
Following the latest purchases, TRIG’s portfolio consists of 24 solar and wind power projects with a total generating capacity of over 340 MW. The company noted it was assessing more targets.
TRIG has used its existing cash resources to pay for the transactions.
